Neighbors of a Texas couple reported hearing loud arguments before the disappearance of a Bexar County woman, who has not been seen since Sunday.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Suzanne Clark Simpson, a mother of four and realtor, was last seen Sunday at the Argyle Private Club in Alamo Heights.
Olmos Park police said her husband, Brad Simpson, was arrested in Kendall County on a family violence charge connected to her disappearance.
A neighbor reported seeing Brad and Suzanne Simpson in a heated argument outside their home, followed by a physical altercation where Brad appeared to be restraining her, according to police. The neighbor said it looked like Brad was preventing Suzanne from leaving, News4SA reported.
After hearing screams from a nearby wooded area, the neighbor briefly went outside to check but quickly returned indoors. An hour later, he saw Brad drive away in his truck, only to return after one to two hours, police said.
A family member told investigators they had witnessed Brad strike Suzanne and possibly shove her into a wall. They later noticed a bruise on her elbow and said the husband had taken her phone.
The report also stated Brad Simpson became uncooperative during the investigation, skipped a scheduled interview, and fled to his ranch in Bandera.
Searches are currently underway at the San Antonio River East at Olmos Drive and East Contour Drive. San Antonio Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are currently assisting local police with the search efforts.
“Basically, we’re looking for anything,” DPS Sgt. Deon Cockrell said. “The search crews will go through and continue to search for her in any possible area that she may be missing or possibly located.”
Simpson is described as a white female who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 144 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black dress.
It’s unclear if she was driving when she disappeared.
