A young boy is among those lucky to be alive after an allegedly drunk driver crashed and their car flipped upside down in Adelaide.
CCTV footage exclusively obtained by 9News shows a blue Toyota hitting a parked car on Woodford Road in Elizabeth North before flying into the air and landing on its roof yesterday afternoon.
The crash created a large cloud of smoke.
A 40-year-old male driver and his two passengers were trapped inside the car.
One of those passengers was an eight-year-old boy, 9News understands.
“The car was upside down and half his body was inside the car, half his body was out, hanging on the road,” witness Rhys told 9News.
“I ran up and just grabbed him and just put him in my arms and ran up the road with this poor little kid.”
Dozens of people rushed to the wreckage and emergency services were called to the scene about 4.25pm.
“Make sure people aren’t dead. Honestly, with that sort of noise,” witness Dale Paterson said.
All three were rescued and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police allege the driver underwent a breath test which returned a positive result.
He will be subject to further mandatory testing at the hospital. The driver inside the parked car walked away uninjured.
Police said both cars have been towed from the scene.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
