A man in his 20s has died while attending an outdoor music festival in Sydney.

Paramedics were called to Knockout Outdoor Music Festival at Sydney Showground in Homebush about 11.50pm yesterday.

Police said the man was suffering a medical episode and first responders attempted to revive him.

A crime scene was established and an investigation has been launched into the man’s death.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said it is believed the man had “underlying health issues” and there is no suggestion of any drug taking.

The matter has been referred to the coroner.

Knockout Outdoor is billed as Australia’s largest outdoor music festival.

Thousands of ticketholders attended the hard-style event at Sydney Showground yesterday to watch the acts perform.
