Authorities in Texas are looking for a woman who allegedly posed as a dentist and caused serious damage to a client’s teeth after she inserted a veneer into the patient’s mouth without making a mold first.
Juanetta Solomon, 41, is facing a felony charge of practicing dentistry without a license, according to a probable cause statement by the Houston Police Department. The victim told police she was on TikTok in late March when she came across a video from the account “Tha_Toothly_Houston.” She asked about an appointment to get her teeth fixed and was directed to make an appointment with I Smilez Cosmetic Designz, the affidavit said.

The victim sent the “dentist” four photos that included her front, left, and right sides of her mouth along with another one of her smiling. The “dentist” sent the woman a quote for $1,000 to replace eight bottom teeth and eight front teeth, plus $350 for a bridge, cops wrote. On March 30, the patient went to the so-called dentist office on Westpark Drive on Houston’s westside for a woman who identified herself as “Nikki Calloway,” the complaint said. She later identified Calloway as Solomon.
Solomon did not make a mold of her teeth or mouth but “instead applied the composite veneers and bridge, using a lot of pressure and chemicals that made her so dizzy that she had to ask the defendant to stop and give her a break,” cops wrote. Solomon allegedly then used tools, described as a “drill and file” to shape the material placed in the teeth.
“Complainant stated she had trouble closing her motu and asked defendant to make them thinner because they are too big and uncomfortable,” the affidavit said.
In the ensuing days the victim had trouble sleeping because of the pain in her mouth, according to cops. About a week later, she reportedly called Solomon and requested help because her mouth was bleeding. One of her teeth also fell out. Solomon offered for her to have another appointment but the victim instead called police.
Detectives confirmed with the director of investigations for the Texas Board of Dental Examiners that Solomon does not have a license to practice dentistry, nor is she a hygienist or assistant, per the affidavit. Investigators identified Solomon of the owner of I Smilez Cosmetic Designz and issued an arrest warrant on Aug. 30.
Solomon has yet to be arrested and landed herself on the latest Fugitive Friday list by Crime Stoppers of Houston. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-8477.
