White Sox set modern MLB record in futility with 121st loss of 2024

The White Sox stand alone — and not for good reason.

Chicago fell to the Tigers, 4-1, on Friday night, breaking the modern MLB record for losses in a season with its 121st defeat of 2024.

The White Sox, who swept the Angels earlier this week to stave off ignominy, broke the record set by the 1962 Mets, who lost 120 games in the first season.
