A North Carolina man is behind bars after he allegedly shot his wife and another man to death, and then sent a picture of the victim’s body to their spouse.

Jonathan Davon Freeman, 44, of Lexington, is facing two counts of murder, jail records show. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that a woman called 911 around 8:42 a.m. Saturday to inform them about a possible murder in the 1200 block of Old Oak Lane in Woodleaf, which is roughly 50 miles northeast of Charlotte. The woman told dispatchers that Freeman, described as a friend, sent her a picture of her husband, Bryan Burr, dead at their home. She also said Freeman’s wife, Teri Freeman, may be dead at the Burr home.

Deputies rushed to the scene and found the bodies of Burr and Teri Freeman suffering from several gunshot wounds. Jonathan Freeman reportedly remained on scene and made several calls where he made incriminating statements to others. He also allegedly confessed to detectives in a post-Miranda interview. A motive for the murders has not been publicly released. Teri Freeman lived with her husband at their Lexington home, deputies say. Bryan Burr and his wife lived at the home of the murders.
