Firefighters were called to Renown Road in North Rocks just before 3pm today after the car burst into flames.
It took a team of four 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which gutted the car and destroyed the exterior.
One person was treated by paramedics but did not need further treatment.
The flames could be seen from hundred of meters away, with thick black smoke billowing into the air.
