Liam Gallagher’s son Gene, 23, to support Oasis on tour after helping reunite waring brothers

LIAM Gallagher’s rocker son Gene will support Oasis on tour after he played a major role in healing the rift between his dad and uncle.

The Villanelle band member – who looked just like his father on a recent night out – is set to hit the stage during the domestic leg of the band’s epic comeback in 2025.

Gene, 23, and his bandmates will warm up the crowds at venues including Manchester’s Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium in London ahead of the Wonderwall hitmakers’ headline stint.

According to reports in MailOnline, Gene has told his pals Villanelle will be one of 10 support acts for the Britpop band’s tour, dubbed Oasis Live 25.

A source told the publication: “Gene is supporting Oasis.

“He’s been telling a few people and he’s really excited. He loves playing with his dad and knows it will be huge for his music career.”

Villanelle, who have hits including Hinge and Pretty One, are currently unsigned.

Yet they will release their first track with an independent label in November after kicking off their UK headline tour the month before.

They are familiar on the Manchester music scene, previously playing gigs at Band On The Wall.

He was named by his mum, Nicole Appleton, after Kiss frontman Gene Simmons – although his dad claims he’s actually named after the “King of Swing” Gene Krupa.

Previously, Gene told The Times: “The first time my dad came to see me he said: ‘Go on, let’s see what you’re made of because if you’re s*** you’re not playing’.”

Fresh blow for Oasis fans as ‘furious’ band reveal resale tickets from major site will be ‘CANCELLED’ before shows

His band has previously supported his dad Liam on his own run of arena shows, something Gene insists they had to work for.

When asked what his favourite Oasis song was, he joked: “No one will know it though … it’s off one of those weird ones …

“Wonderwall!”

Gene teased the prospect of an Oasis reunion – which now includes four dates in the band’s native Manchester at Heaton Park – in an interview with The Times just a few weeks before the official announcement was made.

He revealed that he was pal with uncle Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais, with the pair helping bring the warring Oasis siblings together.

At the time, he said: “We have jokes about it but we don’t go at it.

“She knows what her dad’s like and I know what my dad’s like. Hey, we’re a big happy family everyone.”

He added: “It’s nothing to do with us.”

However he revealed that he would “love it” but it was “beyond my control”.

He said: “I get the feeling my dad wants it too. Let’s hope it happens.”

Gene is no stranger to reality TV fans, either.

He’s twice starred in Channel 4 show Celebrity Gogglebox – first alongside his dad Liam and nan Peggy in 2017, before reappearing alongside his mum Nicole in 2023.

Rockers Kasabian have apparently been lined up as support.

It comes as disappointed Oasis fans who missed out on tickets first time around will get another chance to see the Slide Away hitmakers in 2025.

Entrance for the shows on September 27 and 28 will be sold in a staggered ballot.

Ticketmaster previously came under fire from fans after enforcing their dynamic ticketing strategy – which sees the price of tickets rise in line with demand.

The system, which was introduced in 2022, meant that tickets were being sold for £355 within hours of going on sale.

Fans during the first general sale were left furious as ticket websites crashed an hour before the sale opened – from a demand of 14million fans.

A spokesperson for Oasis declined to comment on the support acts plans.
