The Mets might not make it to October baseball, but that shouldn’t take away from their season-long resiliency

Admit it.

You expected Bowden Francis to complete the no-hitter. You saw them falling behind the Braves in the race for the last National League wild-card spot.

You’re a Mets fan. So you’ve seen this before, an offense going in the tank at the exact wrong time. A hot streak turning into a cold one.

Except, this team has something different in them. That doesn’t mean they will make the playoffs or go on an October run. But when the situation is dire, when it looks like the season is going to turn in the wrong direction, the Mets have shown a rare ability to respond.
