A 15-year-old girl has died after being hit by a ute trailer in East Lismore on Wednesday

A teenage girl has died after being hit by a ute while walking along the roadside.

The 15-year-old was walking on the Bruxner Highway in East Lismore, on NSW’s North Coast, when she was struck by a trailer at about 5pm on Wednesday.

Witnesses performed first-aid before paramedics arrived and rushed the girl to Lismore Base Hospital where she died.

The 42-year-old male driver of the ute and trailer was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

‘Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident ongoing,’ NSW Police said in a statement.

No charges have been laid.
