Two children have been found dead at a home in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

Police were called to a home in Faulconbridge at 12.40pm today due to concerns for the welfare of a woman and two children.

Two boys, aged nine and 11, were found deceased inside the home by a family member.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the deaths. 

A 42-year-old woman is being transported to Westmead Hospital under police guard and is in a stable condition.

Police are not looking for anyone else, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
