A four-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was struck by a car in Sydney’s West this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Blacktown Olympic Avenue at Rooty Hill just before 3pm after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Paramedics treated the four-year-old at the scene, before he was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The 53-year-old driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
