A man has died in a parachuting accident at a rural property in Queensland.

Emergency services were called to Meandarra Talwood Road in Tarawera, near Goondiwindi on the Queensland-NSW border, around 8am on Tuesday.

Paramedics treated the man for life-threatening injuries but he died at the scene. 

A Queensland Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia the Forensic Crash Unit was sent to the property along with police helicopters.

Inspector Kelly Hanlen said officers are investigating the incident. 

The accident is understood to have occurred during a skills camp on Funny Farm, the Courier Mail reports. 

The camp is being held on the property over five days after the event began on August 26, according to its Facebook page.
