The Piper Cherokee crashed into trees opposite Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School in Bossley Park at 2.30pm yesterday.

The plane initially took off from Bankstown airport at 2.15pm, with the pilot making a mayday call six minutes later.

The aircraft will possibly need to be cut into pieces and removed bit by bit.

The pilot and passenger managed to walk away with minor injuries.

It’s understood the aircraft suffered from some type of engine failure before it went down.
