Anti-Israel protester smacked with ‘We Love Joe’ sign after unfurling banner during Biden’s DNC speech

An anti-Israel demonstrator was whacked on the head with a “We Love Joe” sign after unfurling a protest banner midway through President Biden’s speech at the Democratic National Convention Monday, footage shows.

The woman, who was wearing a hijab, had just unveiled a “Stop Arming Israel” banner in the crowded Chicago arena when a man standing several rows behind started tapping her with his pro-Biden sign.

Video circulating on social media shows the moment the man leaned forward with the three-foot sign and smacked the protester several times on the top of her head.

Separately, others in the crowd tried to block the woman’s sign from view with their own towering placards, various clips show.

One man also physically tried to rip the pro-Gaza banner away from the woman and her cohort.

Those around the protesters started chanting “We Love Joe” in the moments after the banner was unveiled.

Eventually, the lights above the woman and her fellow anti-Israel protesters were shut off — and they were tossed out of the convention, a Washington Post reporter who witnessed the ordeal tweeted.

The incident sparked outrage among some on social media, with many ripping the man for attacking the Muslim woman.

“Who is the guy who hit the Muslim woman holding the banner in the head with his sign?” one person tweeted. “He needs to be identified and she needs to press charges.”

Another said: “Why do this? They’re just holding a banner. Ugly.”

Biden, on his part, broached the Israel war at points during his speech as he vowed to bring Hamas hostages home and put an end to the “civilian suffering” in the Gaza Strip.

“We’ll keep working to bring hostages home and end the war in Gaza and bring peace and security to the Middle East,” Biden declared.

“Those folks down the street have a point: a lot of innocent people are being killed on both sides,” he added.

Earlier, anti-Israel protesters stormed the streets outside the convention, railing against the commander-in-chief for supporting the Jewish state.
