Channel Nine stalwart Tracy Grimshaw has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the premier NSW media gala overnight.

Grimshaw was bestowed the honour at the Kennedy Awards for Excellence in Journalism in the ballroom of Royal Randwick.

Grimshaw has been a beloved face on millions of screens across Australia throughout a career that has spanned more than 40 years.

A Current Affair also scooped other prizes last night.

Hannah Sinclair won the award for outstanding nightly television current affairs reporting for her NDIS investigation.

The 9News and A Current Affairs teams were jointly awarded outstanding documentary gong for the breaking and rolling coverage of the Bondi Junction stabbing.

Meanwhile, Ben Fordham, Mark Levy, Will Bottom and the 2GB team won the award for outstanding radio news and current affairs for their coverage of the Bondi Junction tragedy.
