Is ‘Cuckoo’ Streaming on Netflix or Max?

Hunter Schafer is a teenager that starts having strange visions when she moves to Germany in the horror film Cuckoo, which is coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this scary flick!

Schafer, who rose to fame on Euphoria, plays the seventeen-year-old Gretchen, who is forced to move to resort on the German Alps with her father. When she arrives, she starts to hear some odd noises and she has scary visions that look like someone out to get her. Soon, it becomes clear to Gretchen that there is a deep conspiracy in this resort, one that is becoming attached to her family and anyone that is staying at this resort. Can Gretchen make it out of this resort alive?

So, where can you watch Cuckoo? Is it on Max? What about Netflix?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

WHERE TO WATCH CUCKOO:

Currently, the only way to watch Cuckoo is to go to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, August 9. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon or available to stream on Hulu. Read on for more information.

WHEN WILL CUCKOO BE STREAMING? WILL CUCKOO BE ON HULU?

Yes, Cuckoo will eventually be available for streaming on Hulu due to a deal between the streaming platform and Neon, the film’s distributor. A release date has not yet been announced, but we can make an estimate based on another movie that was distributed by the production company.

Origin, which premiered on Jan. 19, officially came to Hulu on June 10, which is about five months after it debuted in theaters. If Cuckoo follows the same trajectory, it could join the platform by mid-January 2025.

WILL CUCKOO BE ON HBO MAX?

No, Cuckoo will not be on Max — previously known as HBO Max — since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie.

WILL CUCKOO BE ON NETFLIX?

No, Cuckoo will not be on Netflix — at least not anytime soon. While it’s possible the movie may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you will just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on Hulu in the meantime.
