A magnetic power bank is being recalled by more than a dozen tech retailers over fears the device may catch fire.

The MagMove 5K Power Bank manufactured by Cygnett may cause serious burns and/or property damage if the battery overheats.

“Consumers should stop using affected power banks immediately,” the recall notice reads.

The affected product was sold by retailers across the country between September 7, 2023, and March 15, 2024.

Stores that sold the product include: JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Telstra, Optus, The Good Guys, Aelia, Relay, Tech2Go, Newslink, WH Smith, Anaconda, Myer, Leading Edge and Retravision. 

Cygnett is recalling the following models:

Consumers are advised to return the power banks to the place of purchase for a full refund.
