Police in Missouri arrested three people who allegedly subjected as many as seven children to sexual and physical abuse and neglect, records show. In addition to the sexual abuse, some of the children were forced to sit inside dog cages and beaten with wooden spoons, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Codie Lee Wilder, 25, is facing charges of child molestation, sodomy and statutory rape. Billy Bresee, 42, is facing one count of abuse or neglect of a child while Holly Brewer, 49, faces three counts of the same charge.
The affidavit says an officer from the Seneca Police Department sat down on July 18 to interview one of the victims who is in close relation to Bresee. The girl told cops she and her sisters were “subjected to sexual acts” by Wilder. When she told Bresee about the sexual abuse he allegedly told her to go live with a relative and “didn’t do anything about” it. Bresee previously told the girls that “they were lying and didn’t know what they were talking about,” according to the affidavit
Victims also told cops that Brewer allegedly forced two of the youngest victims to stay in dog kennels as punishment. Brewer would slap them in their face or beat the children with a wooden spoon so hard that one of them broke, the affidavit said.
Wichita, Kansas, NBC affiliate KSN reports that Wilder’s alleged victims were between 12 and 14 years old. Wilder had been staying in the home with the victims. His probable cause arrest affidavit was not immediately available.
Cops arrested Brewer and Bresee on Thursday and took them to the Newton County Jail where they have since posted their $5,000 bonds. Wilder was arrested on Saturday and remains in the Newton County Jail without bond. The suspects are barred from contacted the alleged victims.
