Birds Eye the UK’s largest single vining pea producer, took the TV star behind the scenes of their pea operation.
Sam couldn’t control his excitement over the production of peas when being walked through the process of harvesting and freezing them.
The I’m A Celeb winner had a go on one of the pea harvesters before the they were taken from field to factory in a military-like operation.
No stranger to a challenge it was a race against the clock for Sam to ensure they’d be frozen within two and a half hours of being picked to lock in it’s nutrients and sweetness.

The TV star learned all about pea production and all about why the it came out on top as British families ultimate favourite vegetable alongside broccoli.
Speaking on his experience, Sam said: “Seeing the pea harvest, the freezing process, and the passion and knowledge of the teams, was an eye-opening experience.
“I don’t think many people would know that these peas are individually given a good old squeeze to check if they’re ready to be picked.”
Sophie Simms, from Birds Eye, added: “It was a pleasure to show Sam our harvest and freezing processes and we’re really pleased he got a glimpse into the care and precision that our farmers and teams put into producing our peas.”
Sam’s pea experience comes after a stressful time with partner Zara Mcdermott, 27, after The Sun revealed that the couple were having “crisis talks” after Zara was spotted crying in the street.
The Sun previously told how a blazing row had led Zara to pack her bags and leave their home.

The Love Island star then went to stay with her parents in Essex before jetting off to Majorca for a modelling job.
A source at the time admitted : “Zara had a work commitment in Majorca but has now returned home to be with Sam and try to iron out their differences and have crisis talks.
“They really want to try and make the relationship work.”
Now it seems the couple have put the split rumours to bed as Zara jetted off on another sun-soaked getaway.
Uploading a photo dump to her Instagram which included a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Sam, who was seen clutching one of their cats.
