Kidnapped Woman Jumps to Death from Moving Car, Boyfriend Charged with Murder

A man has been apprehended and charged with kidnapping and first-degree murder after a woman reportedly jumped from his moving vehicle during a police pursuit in Arizona on Saturday, resulting in her death.

According to l13 News, William Nathaniel Holloway, 36, was detained by Pima County Sheriff’s deputies on July 20. The woman, who was a passenger in Holloway’s car, contacted police to report a domestic violence incident near Catalina Highway and Melpomene Way.

She stated that Holloway, her boyfriend, had taken an illegal drug before driving them to Mt. Lemmon. Holloway allegedly refused to let her exit the vehicle.

When police caught up with Holloway and ordered him to stop, he ignored their commands and accelerated, leading hem on a chase around Mt. Lemmon.

Holloway drove at speeds ranging from 25 mph to 45 mph, according to reports. When the woman, who remained unidentified as of Monday, jumped from the car, she sustained critical injuries. Holloway allegedly continued driving and was only apprehended after getting a flat tire, allowing police to catch up.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Newa 4 Tucson reports that Holloway has a criminal history in Arizona, including charges over the past 20 years for armed robbery, trafficking stolen property, fraud, and third-degree burglary.

Holloway’s bond has been set at $750,000. Along with the first-degree murder and kidnapping charges, he also faces a charge of unlawful flight from law enforcement.
