Barley farmer and photographer Jasmin Morrison from Moree in NSW is surrounded by cotton fields.

She took this photo to display in her son’s room and decided to enter the photo in the competition afterwards.

“Where we are situated we are surrounded by cotton fields, we watch it every year as it comes up,” she told 9news.com.au.

“We’ve lived out here for our entire lives, being able to watch every type of crop come up is pretty incredible, and I think a lot of people take that for granted.

“I love showing other people what it’s like living rural because a lot of people don’t get this opportunity.”

Although the image wasn’t picked as a winner, it’s a wildcard entry in the People’s Choice Award, which will be picked at the Australian Cotton Conference in August.
