A dramatic police chase has ended in a man’s arrest after a woman was found dead at a home in Brisbane’s south-west.

Police found the 28-year-old woman dead at a home on Flinders Drive at Leichhardt, Ipswich after responding to a welfare check about 9.15am today.

Officers with the help of Polair then pursued a man in a Toyota sedan, using stopsticks to halt the car at Ipswich Boonah Road at Peak Crossing.

The 36-year-old man was then arrested as part of a homicide investigation into the woman’s death.

The car has been towed for forensic examination.

Police are also searching for any items of interest at Wyaralong Dam, that may have been used in connection with the alleged offence.

Anyone with information that could assist with police investigations, is urged to contact police.
