Trump seen for first time after he’s shot by 20-year-old in attempted assassination, arrives at NJ airport

Donald Trump was seen striding down the steps of his private plane, Trump Force One, in the first image of the former president since a would-be assassin’s bullet nearly took his life.

The former president was flanked by Secret Service as he walked down to the tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport after midnight — around the same time his would-be assassin was identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

“Strong and resilient. He will never stop fighting for America,” his deputy communications director Margo Martin said on X.

Trump appeared solemn as he strode down the stairs and offered a brief wave to the camera.

He appeared to be wearing the same navy suit he wore when the gunman clipped his right ear just hours earlier.

At least one audience member was killed in the shooting.

He had been treated earlier at a Pennsylvania hospital for wounds to his ear suffered when an assassin opened fire at a rally Saturday evening. AP
