Riley Strain

Recently-released video footage reportedly shows Riley Strain being escorted out of a Tennessee bar before his disappearance and death.

According to WTVF, Strain, 22, was kicked out of Luke Bryan’s bar in Nashville on March 8 because he was verbally aggressive to staff. A security member was filmed walking Strain from the rooftop bar, down the stairs, and out of the building.

Strain, a University of Missouri student, was attending a fraternity conference in Nashville when he vanished. WTVF also obtained footage showing when Riley’s frat brothers realized he was missing.

Strain remained unaccounted until March 22, when a building materials company employee told a 911 dispatcher that he discovered Strain “face down” in the Cumberland River while checking the dock.

Davidson County coroners ruled Strain’s death was an accidental drowning.

Strain’s family subsequently arranged a second private autopsy, citing concerns about the absence of water in his lungs, which cast doubt on the possibility of drowning, after the first report listed his death as accidental.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is currently investigating whether the bar served Strain too much alcohol the night he vanished. Staff claimed that they served him one beer and two glasses of water. TABC and local law enforcement are also investigating whether he was served alcohol in other establishments.
