A 55-year-old New York man has been charged with concealing a corpse after a woman was found shot dead and wrapped in a sleeping bag in the Kips Bay neighborhood.
The dead woman was identified as 31-year-old Yazmeen Williams, WCBS reported.

A video shows a man in a motorized wheelchair dragging what appears to be the same bag that Williams was found in on Friday when police answered a call about a suspicious package.
Investigators said Williams had been shot in the head, and the medical examiner ruled her death a homicide. Her body was found in the sleeping bag, which was wrapped in trash bags and left out for trash pickup.
Chad Irish was arrested on Monday afternoon. Irish, who uses a motorized wheelchair, was carried out of his apartment on a gurney as crowds of neighbors tried to attack him. Police confiscated his wheelchair and dog.
Irish was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after police say he threatened a man who identified him at the Strauss Houses, where Williams’ body was found, according to WABC, which said that Irish is “ambulatory” and can walk but chooses to use the wheelchair to get around the city.
Several people told WCBS that Williams was friends with a man who used a wheelchair. Tommy Mena, a friend of the victim, said they spent a lot of time together and that Irish “could be a abusive.”
Police said Irish is the prime suspect in Williams’ murder and that investigators were at his apartment on Tuesday collecting evidence.
Sources told WCBS that Irish has nearly two dozen prior arrests and went to prison twice for robbery and assault. He was out on parole at the time of the murder.
Meanwhile, Williams’ family and friends mourn her loss.
“She was looking so forward to living, living her life,” Nicole Williams, her mother, said. “She got her degree in criminal justice. She went to Buffalo State University, and she wanted to go back to be a lawyer.”
