A 28-year-old woman has been arrested nearly four years after she allegedly killed her ex-boyfriend in California, fatally shooting him before going on the lam. Sheila Brigitte Camarena was taken into custody on Tuesday evening and charged with one count of first-degree murder in the slaying of 33-year-old Mychael Blake Farve, authorities announced.

According to a news release from the San Diego Police Department, on Sept. 18, 2020, at about 3:25 a.m., the police communications center received a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4400 block of Euclid Avenue. Police and emergency medical personnel with San Diego Fire-Rescue were immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon arriving, first responders said they found a 33-year-old Black male — later identified as Farve — suffering from “trauma to his upper body” that appeared to have been caused by a gunshot wound. Medics transported Farve to a hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at about 4:15 a.m., police said.

The investigation into the fatal shooting was led by detectives with the department’s Homicide Unit, which named Camarena as a “person of interest” in October 2020, the Times of San Diego reported.
