A mother and son have been killed in a house fire in Logan, Queensland.

Fire crews were called to a home on Cypress Street in Woodridge just after 6pm yesterday, where a house was engulfed in flames.

A woman aged in her 80s and her son, aged in his 60s, died in the blaze.

“It’s a terrible, terrible circumstance,” Queensland Police Acting Inspector Mark Proctor said.

He said the pair were believed to have had a disability that hindered their ability to leave when the fire erupted.

Police are investigating the cause of the blaze but it is not being treated as suspicious.
