Singer Angela Bofill dies aged 70 as tributes flood in for ‘I Try’ and ‘Angel of the Night’ star

R&B singer Angela Bofill has died at the age of 70, her agent has said.

The musician, best known for her tracks I Try and Angel of the Night, died in Vallejo, California, on June 13.

News of her death was shared on the artist’s Facebook page.

Rich Engel, her friend and manager, said he was saddened to share the news of her death.

Tributes have poured in from across the music industry.

“We are saddened,” the singer Sheila Escovedo said.

“The Escovedo family sends our deepest condolences.”

“Rest easy lady,” the jazz trumpeter Tom Browne said.

Fans have been left heartbroken by her death as they reminisced on their memories of watching the star in action.
