SINGER Sting’s son has joined the police — the force not his dad’s band.
Giacomo Sumner, whose dad fronted 1980s hitmakers The Police, became an officer at his passing-out-parade earlier this month.

The 28-year-old said on social media: “Becoming a police officer has been my dream since I was 13.”
The ceremony, at the Met’s academy in Hendon, North London, was said to have been attended by his dad, real name Gordon Sumner, 72, and mum Trudie Styler, 70.
Criminal justice grad Giacomo is the youngest of their four children.
His starting salary is likely to be more than £36,000.
All his siblings, plus Sting’s two children from his first marriage, have followed careers in music, acting or filmmaking.
Giacomo made his acting debut at 11 and had a string of minor roles before his career switch.
The Police had five No1 singles before Sting’s solo career helped him amass about £300million.
He has told his children they will not be able to live off his fortune.
He said: “All my kids rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate.
“Obviously, if they were in trouble I’d help them, but I’ve never really had to do that.
“They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own.”
