An urgent manhunt has been launched after a woman escaped an attacker on a popular bushwalking trail.
Police were called to the Cockatoo Trail at Mount Coot-tha, west of Brisbane, on Sunday morning after reports a man had attempted to sexually assault a 25-year-old woman.
The female hiker was pushed to the ground and held down, according to 9NEWS.
The attacker fled the scene on foot.
