Texas Man Who Shot Dead Attorney During McDonald’s Dispute Arrested; Was Out on Bail for Assaulting Family Member

Houston Police have arrested the suspect they say shot an area attorney outside a McDonald’s fast food restaurant after the lawyer intervened in a dispute with staff.

Anthony Martin Landry, 58, was charged with murder in the shooting death of Jeffrey Limmer, 46, KPRC reported.

Investigators say Landry shot Limmer on May 4 when Limmer stepped into the middle of Landry’s angry dispute over his order, as CrimeOnline reported. Landry allegedly turned his ire toward Limmer, who shoved him to the ground when they went outside. The suspect went to his truck, pulled out a gun, and shot Limmer twice.

Limmer was pronounced dead on the scene. The suspect fled in his truck, and police announced a warrant for his arrest five days later. According to KTRK, a witness identified him to police.

Court documents say Landry was out of jail on bond for assaulting a family member earlier this year at the time of the shooting.

The documents also say Landry used racial slurs and other vulgar remarks as he loudly demanded a refund for his order, KPRC reported. Arrest records say he’s being held without bond.

Landry’s criminal record dates back to 1997 and includes evading arrest and forgery.

Limmer was a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and South Texas College of Law and worked for the Houston law firm of Lewis Brisbois.
