Investigators looking for a missing Missouri college student kicked out of a Nashville bar a week ago have found the man’s bank card on a Cumberland River embankment.
Riley Strain, 22, was escorted out of Luke’s 32 Bridge, country star Luke Bryan’s bar on Broadway, just after 9:30 p.m. on March 8. His companions remained in the bar and did not accompany him after the bar’s security made the decision “based on our conduct standards to escort him from the venue,” WKRN reported.
One of his companions followed him down the stairs but went back upstairs to his other friends after Strain left, according to the bar, which said he had been served one alcoholic beverage and two waters while inside.
It’s not known where Strain and his friends were before they went to Luke’s 32 Bridge.
Surveillance footage showed Strain stumbling around a parking lot a few minutes after he was escorted out and then crossing the street, as CrimeOnline reported.
Strain’s phone last pinged just before 10 p.m. near James Robertson Parkway and Gay Street, and apparently he spoke with one of his friends during that time, according to WKRN. The ping was not specific enough, however, to provide information on his exact location or direction.
One of Strain’s friends called 911 to report him missing the next day.
Hours before investigators found Strain’s bank card, they were called to the river for a body. The Nashville Fire Department said, however, that the body did not match Strain’s description.
Strain was visiting Nashville with some of his classmates for a fraternity conference.
