The father of a missing Texas A&M student says his son, who’s been missing for nearly two weeks, would have never willingly left without contacting them.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 21-year-old Caleb Harris vanished on March 4 from his residence at The Cottages in Corpus Christi, at a little before 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin.

Harris sent a Snapchat message around 2:45 a.m. to his sister, according to family. Shortly after, he went outside to wait for an Uber food order, according to what his roommates told police. He never returned.

His father, Randy Harris, said the disappearance was highly unusual and that Harris was excited about an upcoming fishing trip.

“He had just seen his mom Friday and Saturday they had fun with roommates and friends, went to beach, showed her where he likes to go fishing,” Randy Harris told CrimeOnline.

“He had been out with friend fishing on Sunday, got the new dog Sunday night. Caleb and I are in constant connection with fun facts and text about his life and fishing, cooking– he loved to cook and try new things.  He had been texting me fishing lures he was going to use the next day.”

Randy added that his son’s phone is the only thing unaccounted for and that it was either turned off or died.

“We believe he had his phone. We cannot find it. That’s the only item missing,” Randy said.

According to Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers, Harris’ roommates said they couldn’t find him after he left the apartment to wait for the food. The Uber order, according to the restaurant, was marked as complete, and Randy Harris said the driver has been questioned several times.

Randy added that the cameras at the apartment complex and the security gate were not working when Caleb vanished.

Search efforts have now broadened to include bloodhound searches. The Coast Guard is utilizing helicopters to help with the search.

Harris is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and brown eyes and doesn’t have his wallet or vehicle with him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at 361-886-2840 or 361-886-2600. Tipsters can also contact university police at 361-825-4444.
