Search efforts to locate a 21-year-old Texas A&M Corpus Christi student escalated on Tuesday, as searchers focused on the areas around a Nueces County apartment complex.
Searchers have been focusing on the vicinity behind the North Padre Island apartment complex, The Cottages, where Caleb Harris lives, along with the eastern and southern sectors of the community.
Harris was last seen March 4 at a little before 3 a.m. at his apartment in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin, while taking his new dog out for a walk around the complex. His parents told FOX News Digital that Harris sent a Snapchat message around 2:45 a.m.
Shortly after, he went outside to wait for an Uber order. It was the last time they heard from him.
“Roommate got a new dog, and so, from 10 [p.m.] on, they were playing with the dog. We do have some video of them playing with the dog,” Caleb’s father, Randy Harris said.
“He was preparing for the next afternoon. He had ordered from a convenience store his lunch for the next day, which is very normal. … He’s a creature of habit, so it was very normal for him to do that.”
Harris had his phone on him but it was turned off, and according to his father, the restaurant said the Uber order was marked as complete.
“He kind of vanished,” Randy Harris added. “There’s no evidence of wrongdoing, but there’s no evidence at all. And so it’s a matter of looking at every inch, everything we could possibly think of…It is a mystery.”
According to Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers, Harris’ roommates said they couldn’t find him after he left the apartment to wait on the food.
Harris is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and brown eyes and doesn’t have his wallet or vehicle with him.
