Police have arrested a man following the discovery of a woman’s body in the boot of a car.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Park Street, Evans Head, following reports of a concern for welfare at about 8.10am on Friday.
Officers from the Richmond Police District arrived and discovered the body of a 60-year-old woman in the boot of a car.
A 39-year-old man who was known to the woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Ballina Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
Police have established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
