Police will extradite a man from the Gold Coast to Sydney as part of an investigation into alleged nationwide drug supply.

Strike Force Maimura has been investigating a criminal group allegedly involved in drug supply around Australia using private planes and encrypted devices.

At about 9.40am yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast, where they arrested a 55-year-old man.

He appeared at Southport Magistrates Court and investigators were granted his extradition to NSW.

Inquiries are ongoing.
