A Queensland farmer has been charged with murder after a woman was allegedly run over by a tractor slasher west of the Gold Coast.

Police found a 41-year-old woman dead after they arrived at the Woodhill property at 9.30am yesterday.

The small rural area is located between Jimboomba and Beaudesert and has a population of about 720 people.

A 44-year-old man has now been charged with one count each of domestic violence, murder and interfering with a corpse.

Detectives and forensic officers went to and from the property all afternoon yesterday.

The man was refused bail and will face court today.
