Demi Lovato bashed for cringe ‘Heart Attack’ performance at American Heart Association concert: ‘That’s a bit dark’

Of all songs?

Demi Lovato is going viral for performing her 2013 hit “Heart Attack” Thursday at the star-studded America Heart Association’s cardiovascular disease event.

A TikTok recapping the performance at the origination’s Go Red for Women Red Dress Collection concert has over 1.2 million views and thousands of comments from astonihsed fans criticizing the song choice.

“SHE PREFORMS HEART ATTACK AT AN EVENT WHERE PEOPLE HAD HEART ATTACKS?? one asked on X.

“This feels like something that would’ve happened on ‘Parks & Rec,’” another said of the beloved NBC mockumentary.

“She literally has a song called ‘give your heart a break’ and she chose that!!!” someone else mentioned Lovato’s 2011 radio-friendly song.

“Well that’s a bit dark, don’t you think?” one X user pondered on the platform.

The crowd didn’t seem to mind the interesting song selection, as one fan noted, “It’s the way the audience was cheering and singing along.”

However, what many fans didn’t see online was Lovato’s introduction speech where she told the crowd about surviving a heart attack in 2018 after a drug overdose.

“While my next song is about the intense feelings that come with falling in love as well as heart break, opening yourself up, taking risks and not being afraid to do it again, this song has many parallels for me, my journey and a reminder for all of us in the room just how strong the mind-heart-body connection truly is,” she introduced “Heart Attack.”

What’s more — an insider tells The Post that the AHA encouraged Lovato to sing the song in question.

The Post has contacted reps for Lovato and the AHA for comment.

Still, the newly-engaged rocker’s antics were enough to remind others about their own unfortunate song choice scenarios.

“This so like when I was at a cancer walk and they played ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ for the survivors walk,” one person recalled.

“I worked in a therapy office that played ‘Crazy Train’ in the waiting room,” another said of the Ozzy Osbourne classic.

“I went to a funeral once for a friend that died in a car accident & the song that her family chose was ‘Jesus take the Wheel’ by Carrie Underwood,” a third shared.
