A light plane has reportedly crashed south-west of Sydney shortly after it took off from Camden Airport.

It’s understood a Cessna aircraft from a local flying school crashed in Brownlow Hill after 3pm about 9km from the airport where it took off.

Police have confirmed officers are at the scene of the crash.

It is unknown how many people were onboard the plane.
