Sharon and Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy had been married for more than 30 years when he began an affair with celebrity hairdresser Michelle Pugh.
Ozzy was booted out of the marital home when the four-year fling came to light in 2016, as Sharon insisted she had “proof” of it happening.
Thankfully, the couple were eventually able to work through their crisis and Sharon let her husband return to their Beverly Hills mansion.
But according to The Mirror, the trauma of his infidelity almost proved too much for Sharon to cope with.

Speaking at her Sharon Osbourne: Cut The Crap stage tour, the newspaper claims she told an audience in London: “I took I don’t know how many pills.”
The star is also said to have revealed to her friend and interviewer, The Sun and Loose Women’s Jane Moore: “I just thought, ‘My kids are older, they are fine and can take care of themselves’.
“So I took an overdose and locked myself in the bedroom. The maid tried to come in to clean room and saw me.”
Details of Ozzy’s affair with Michelle first came to light in May 2016.
A source at the time told The Sun: “Sharon went ballistic with Ozzy and accused him of having the affair.
“She said she had suspected something had been going on for some time and now had proof.
“People are wondering whether Sharon went through Ozzy’s phone before accusing him. She has done that before but in the past she was checking if he’d been using drugs.”
Thankfully, the showbiz couple – who have three children together – did reunite after five months of separation.
Ozzy described it as a “bump in the road” during an interview with Good Morning America.
Sharon, meanwhile, said on US chat show The Talk: “I forgive. It’s going to take a long time to trust, but we’ve been together 36 years, 34 of marriage … I just can’t think of my life without him.”
The couple are now firmly back on track, although Ozzy was rocked with a devastating health diagnosis in 2020. He is now living with Parkinson’s disease.
You’re Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:
