Straphanger, 34, fatally shot on NYC subway car

A 34-year-old straphanger was shot and killed while riding a subway train in Brooklyn Sunday night, police said.

The man was shot twice – in the back and shoulder – aboard a Manhattan-bound 3 train before police officers reached him at the Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College Station in Crown Heights around 8:15 p.m., authorities said.

Police said the man was taken to Kings County Hospital, though it's unclear what led up to the fatal shooting.

He was taken to Kings County Hospital and succumbed to injuries at 9:05 p.m., the NYPD said.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrest has been made.
