New York Mayor Eric Adams said at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple inauguration, 

“We have one of the largest Indian populations here in the city and (Ram Mandir opening) allows them to celebrate and lift their spirituality to help us all in the healing process.”

When Eric Adams was asked what it meant to the Hindus of New York City to open the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Eric Adams said the Ram Mandir’s opening was extremely important. Eric said, 

“If we look at the Hindu community in New York City, this is extremely important. It gives them an opportunity to celebrate and lift up their spirituality….” 

Eric Adams attended a religious celebration “Mata ki Chowki” at the Geeta Mandir in the city. Deputy Commissioner of International Affairs Dilip Chauhan joined Eric Adams at the Mata ki Chowki. When Eric Adams announced a holiday for a public school on Diwali then Dilip Chauhan expressed his gratitude to Eric and said, 

“I would like to add how Mayor Adams loves the Hindu community, he is the first in history to declare Diwali as a public holiday.”
