STAR Wars fans fear the the sci-fi franchise will go “woke” under the next film’s “feminist” director.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, 45, is the first female to oversee one of the Disney-made movies.

The double Oscar winner — best known for hard-hitting documentary films highlighting gender inequality against women — is working on Star Wars: New Jedi Order.
She said “We’re in 2024 now, it’s about time we had a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far, far away”.
But she has come under fire from sci-fi fans who have now highlighted remarks she made 2015.
She told a TV audience: “I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable.”
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, begging Disney bosses not to allow the franchise to go “woke”.
One said: “Star Wars is about to get its final woke nail in the coffin.”
Another said: “I would rather sit through 70 showings of The Phantom Menace than have to endure 7 seconds of any Star Wars film directed by this woke activist.”
A third fan added: “Woke will destroy Star Wars.”
The New Jedi Order centres on Daisy Ridley’s character Rey.
The script has been written by Steven Knight, creator of the BBC gangster series Peaky Blinders.
