Efforts to tear down the Idaho house where four college students were murdered last year are inching forward, with parking restrictions now imposed on the street outside the residence, Fox News reports.
Signs posted about the parking prohibition in Moscow, Idaho, come as the University of Idaho prepares to demolish the King Road home where Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were found dead on November 13, 2022.
Authorities allege the victims were stabbed to death by Bryan Kohberger, a doctoral student at nearby Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. DNA links Kohberger to a knife sheath found at the crime scene, but his lawyers contend he was not at the house and was instead driving around alone on the night of the slayings.
Not everyone is on board with the decision to tear down the house. Some family members of the victims say the home should remain intact until the resolution of the criminal proceedings against Kohberger.
Security guards have been stationed at the residence since the deaths and fencing has been placed around the property.
The new regulations prohibit parking near the King Road residence between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. on two days later this month and in early January. The house is scheduled to be torn down on December 28, according to the Moscow-Pullman Daily News.

Architecture students will be designing a memorial garden at the site once the home is demolished.
Kohberger, 28, faces four counts of first-degree murder and one count of burglary in connection with the slayings. A judge in late May entered a plea of not guilty on Kohberger’s behalf.
Latah County Prosecuting Attorney Bill Thompson in late June said his office planned to seek the death penalty if Kohberger is convicted.
The trial could be scheduled for this coming summer.
