Woolworths has issued a recall for one batch of its popular mince pies as a precaution over fears the product may contain metal.

The notice applies to Woolworths brand Shortcrust Summer Berry Mince Pies 6-pack 360g with a best before date of June 13, 2024.

The affected products were only sold at Woolworths stores in New South Wales.

Food Standards Australia urged customers to return the product, as it may cause illness or injury if consumed.

Customers who return the product to the place of purchase are eligible for a full refund.

Anyone who consumed the affected mince pies should seek medical advice.

Woolworths said the regular variety of its Fruit Mince Pies has not been affected by the recall and remains safe to eat.

“Woolworths takes product safety seriously and apologises for any inconvenience caused by this recall,” it said.

Customers can call the toll-free customer service number for further information.”
