Eva Lawler has been appointed the Chief Minister.

The former treasurer pledged to tackle “cost of living, giving Territorians opportunities, and keeping our community safe”.

Fyles had been facing mounting pressure to resign after failing to disclose a small shareholding in a mining and metals company called South32 which she acquired after a BHP demerger in 2015.

That BHP shareholding came via a gift from her late grandmother in 1985.

Fyles, member for Drysdale, said the failure to declare the South32 shareholding was ‘an error’ but ‘not deliberate or intentional’.

Deputy Chief Minister will be Chansey Paech.
