James Hearn, 47, was the lead singer of band Ultra from its inception in 1997.

The group, which released its first album two years later, were famed for tracks including Say It Once, Say You Do and Rescue Me.

James penned a huge chunk of the tracks and a second album followed in 2005, entitled The Sun Shines Brighter, following their reunion.

The singer’s initial degree was in Geography and Management and he followed up with a Masters in Real Estate after working as a surveyor.

He now works as the head of asset management at an investment bank in London.

His LinkedIn page shows he has worked in his current role for eight years, joining in February 2015.

Back in his music heyday, James told The Daily Telegraph: “My music career was great fun and, as a bunch of guys who got together at Leeds University to give the musical bigtime a go, we had a good time.”

Now it seems he has moved away from performing in his day-job.

Meanwhile, a Nineties soul singer looks unrecognisable following a string of UK hits.

A popstar hailed the voice of Eurodance – Ann Lee – also now looks completely different.

An Indie frontman also left fans doing a double take 22 years after the band Cast’s split.
