Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano, 65, looks unrecognizable with beard at LA event 18 years after sitcom’s end

EVERYBODY Loves Raymond alum Ray Romano has appeared mature and looked unrecognizable with a scruffy beard at a prestigious event.

On Wednesday night, Ray, 60, attended the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations Career Retrospective event in Los Angeles, California.

The Everybody Loves Raymond star spoke in front of a crowd at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Screening Room.

The standup comic donned a black blazer with matching pants and a grayish shirt.

He covered his eyes with glasses as his black hair seemed thinning.

His beard had short white hairs, which spread to the sides of his head.

This is a different look for the TV star, who had fuller hair and wore plaid shirts on his hit sitcom in the ’90s.

In September 1993, the then 39-year-old star appeared as Ray Barone, a family man who deals with his dysfunctional brother and parents.

The CBS sitcom continued for about nine seasons.

Ray turned 47 when Everybody Loves Raymond aired its series finale in 2005.

About 18 years later, the former TV star is promoting his directorial debut, Somewhere in Queens.

Ray still had greying hair when he appeared on The View.

The Somewhere in Queens director opened up about his latest project as he wore a beige shirt over a bluish top.

The panelists were caught off-guard when his phone alarm started going off in the middle of their conversation.

They looked confused when Ray asked if he could share something personal with them and the audience.

The comedian held up his phone and shared the alarm with everyone at the table.

Ray joked: “This is my life now. This is telling me to take my pills.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin, 55, said: “Wow,” with a giggle.

Ray added: “It says ‘pills!'”

The audience applauded the star’s honesty and for using his smartphone to remind himself to take his medication.

THE AUDIO BLUNDER

As the interview continued, viewers were left reeling after the audio feed was suddenly lost.

Ray poked fun about “directing himself,” as his hilarious comments made moderator Whoopi Goldberg, 68, start laughing.

When the guest continued to speak, all of a sudden, the audio cut off.

A few assumed he had suddenly gone on an obscenity-laced tirade, but others believed he was simply talking about something completely inoffensive.

He made gestures with his hands, but there was no sound coming out as he spoke.

Fans were not thrilled with the blunder and took to social media to bash the gaffe.

One viewer seemed more curious than anything and tweeted: “They bleeped Ray out at one point. What did he say, I kinda wonder?”

Another viewer exclaimed: “You all heard what Ray said!?”

A third fan wondered aloud: “What did they just bleep out?”

A fourth person echoed their curiosity: “I wanna know too!”
