Thanksgiving is a time for traditions, and it is traditional here at Hot Air to write a Thanksgiving post.
Ed, Jazz, John, Karen, Beege, and I each have a lot to be thankful for, of course. Family, friends, our good if not great health, and the fact we each live in this amazing country.
As much time as we spend discussing the challenges America faces, it is important to recognize and be thankful for the fact that we live in the freest, most prosperous, and most generous country in the world.
Beege lives in Florida, so she may have the most to be grateful for. Just sayin’. Here in Minnesota, we could use a Governor DeSantis, that’s for sure!
As a group, we have another thing to be grateful for, and that is you, our readers. Not only do we enjoy interacting with the VIP members whose comments we read (and occasionally make fun of), but we also grudgingly admit that even the occasional readers who for some unfathomable reason have yet to sign up for VIP (DO SO TOMORROW TO GET 60% OFF!) warm our hearts.
Because of you, we can make a modest living sharing our perspectives, and I can’t tell you how grateful that makes each of us. For me, at least, this is the perfect job.
Well, almost perfect. I could use a raise, Ed!

As worried as I am about the future, I often remind myself of Bismarck’s quip that God looks after children, drunks, and the United States of America.
We have been uniquely blessed in world history, and we have reason to hope that God’s blessings will continue to be bestowed on this country.
Of course, God helps those who help themselves, so it’s important that we keep fighting to preserve and improve on the blessings we all enjoy.
I am confident that each of you will do your best to do so.
